The Input Group were appointed to carry out improvements at the iconic Southampton Central station as part of a schedule of improvements to rejuvenate the aging station. As part of this we were responsible for building a new 50m canopy on Platform 1, adding additional seating and Platform lighting.
In addition to the Platform embellishments, the project also required the installation of new Public Address and Customer Information systems.

Our Approach
Ensuring minimal disruption
A 50m canopy was installed on Platform 1 along with new platform LED lighting and platform resurfacing transforming the Platform appearance and improving user experience.
Careful planning for the works ensured that there were minimal interruptions to regular station operations.
The Input Group were appointed to help rejuvenate the ageing station.
This involved the installation of a 50m canopy while causing minimal disruption.
The Outcome
Thoughtfully & efficiently modernised
A 50m canopy was installed on Platform 1 along with new platform LED lighting and platform resurfacing transforming the Platform appearance and improving user experience.
Additional seating was also added to complete the platform modernisation, and help improve the overall customer experience.
