A special event hosted by Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram and Knowley Council to mark the completion of Prescot Railway Station.
In an event to officially launch the new look station Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram unveiled a commemorative plaque alongside Leader of Knowsley Council, Cllr Graham Morgan. Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram said:
“Giving people a proper, decent alternative to the car for getting about is vital in doing our bit to tackle climate change. It’s why I’m so committed to building an integrated London-style transport system that makes it quick, cheap and easy for people to get about, whether they’re on their bike, the bus or the train.”
The improvements form part of ambitious plans to rejuvenate Prescot town centre into a vibrant place for residents, visitors and local businesses, achieved by facilitating a more seamless connection between Prescot town centre and the new station, as well as creating a warmer welcome to the town itself.
